Autumn Cupcake Decorating Classes

My autumn schedule has been finalised so here are the class dates and details.

Sunday 2nd Oct 1-3pm Decorate Together
Tuesday 11th Oct 7.30-9.30pm Halloween Themed Class
Sunday 13th Nov 1-3pm Decorate Together
Tuesday 29th Nov 7.30-9.30pm Christmas Themed Class

Decorate Together classes are a new class aimed primarily at mothers & daughters but is open to any adult and child, dads, daughters, sons, nieces, nephews etc etc.

The themed classes will be fun as instead of randomly making flowers and butterflies there will be a more structured approach to create specific designs...with your own twist of course!

Themed classes are £25 per person, Decorate Together classes are £25 per adult £15 per child (aged 5-16)

Classes are held at French Knots Craft Studio in Sale with the very lovely Jo. Places are limited and go fast so please book early to avoid disappointment. A non refundable £10 deposit is required at booking to secure class place.

Another successful class

In July I held another Cupcake Decorating Class with the lovely Jo at French Knots Craft Studio in Sale. As usual my students were fantastic and created very impressive cupcakes.

I'm taking August off teaching but will be back in September with my autumn class programme which kicks off with a Mother & Daughter class on Sunday 25th September.

Exciting New Direction!!

Now I have been baking for years, having been taught well by my mum. But it's only been in recent years that I decided to immerse myself the the world of cupcake decorating which I absolutely love. A natural progression for me was to dip my toe into the bigger world of cake decorating and I am HOOKED!!!!!

Handbags and Briefcases

While at the Baby Loves Disco event at the start of July I was asked if I'd like to take part in a social event run by south Manchester's business women's network group Handbags and Briefcases. I of course said yes and busied myself baking mini cupcake samples and putting together gift boxes of 4 cupcakes to sell and to donate to the raffle.

Now I am new to the world of networking and was to my surprise very nervous about going. The event was held at Bar Brasserie in Altrincham and I have to admit the ladies who ran the event and took part were so welcoming and supportive of me and my business that it made the whole evening very enjoyable.

There were many business women there, most of whom I got a chance to speak to and I will post more info seperately.

Here is my little table which I think is most pretty and as usual my cupcakes went down a storm!!

Baby Loves Disco!!

If you haven't heard of Baby Loves Disco where have you been?! BLD is slowly but surely transforming the hippest venues into child proof discos as toddlers, pre-schoolers and parents looking for a break from the routine playground circuit let loose for some post naptime, pre-dinner fun. Make no mistake, this is NOT the Mickey Mouse club, and Barney is Banned. Baby loves disco is an afternoon dance party featuring real music spun and mixed by real djs blending classic disco tunes From the 70s, & 80s guaranteed to get those little booties moving and grooving.

The fun spills out from all corners of the coolest clubs in town: a chill-out room (with tents, books and puzzles), diaper changing stations, a full spread of healthy snacks and dancing, LOTS of dancing (and yes, the cash bar will be open for mommy and daddy!). But at it’s core, baby loves disco is a community event that brings kids together with kids and parents and parents together with parents, guaranteed to be the best time you've had at a kids event.....

BLDUK is run by my very good friend Naomi Timperley and at the July event I went along with boxes of mini cupcakes, perfect for little hands and mouths, to spread the Heather's Cupcakes word. I had a fab afternoon and the cupcakes vanished within the first hour with many little ones (and parents!) sneaking back for seconds ;o)

Hi everyone. It's been a few weeks since I last posted anything as I have been very busy with work, family and life in general!

I attended a really interesting networking evening with the lovely ladies of Handbags & Briefcases. I have now ventured into the world of cakes decorating, another string to my sugarpaste bow. And my baby girl turned 1!!

Girls Weekend

Last weekend I had enjoyed my annual Girly Weekend where my lovely ladies and I take advantage of the men clearing off to Silverstone for 3 days. We headed into town starting at Simple for food, yum, then to Hula Bar for flaming cocktails, finishing at Noho for shots and dancing...lots of dancing!

I had decided my friends were probably cupcaked out so I made a yummy cake instead for them to enjoy. It was baked and decorated in the girls fav colours on Thursday evening ready for the weekend and if I do say so myself it was very pretty! I popped out for a few last minute bits and bobs and while out received a text from my hubby complimenting me on how fantastic my cake was which I thought was very sweet of him. I arrived home some time later ready to hear more praise about my cake, I whipped of the box lid and to my horror a wedge had disappeared from it. It would seem that my husbands compliments were for how the cake tasted rather than how it looked! I was gutted but my girlies thought it was hilarious and the cake was enjoyed by all!

Busy, busy, busy!

Well folks I haven't posted on here for quite a while as I have been so busy. Other than my cupcake baking I am now venturing into the exciting world of cake decorating which I am loving!! I am still teaching my Cupcake Decorating Class, the next one is tomorrow night so there will be more photos of my students wonderful creations coming soon. I also have lots more photos of cupcakes, cakes and a great social event which I recently took part in to upload so stay tuned!

Cupcake Decorating Class Dates

Well I've taught my first class and it went really well so I'm looking forward to the next. I have 2 more planned through the summer. You will learn how to work with sugarpaste creating beautiful flowers, hearts, butterflies etc. Practice filling icing bags and different piping techniques. Then get creative with a full selection of decorations and glitters to glam your cakes to the max!!!

• All classes are 2 hours. 
• Cost £25 which includes all products and equipment needed
• You will be provided with 6 freshly baked cupcakes to decorate and take home to show off to friends and family in a beautiful gift box

Students Creations

Tuesday night was my 1st Cupcake Decorating Class and I have to say my students were fantastic! They took to cupcake decorating like ducks to water. There was a sea of sugarpaste flowers, butterflies and glitter and we had so much fun!

Ordering Cupcakes

All my cupcakes are home-baked and hand decorated. You can choose from piped buttercream, smooth fondant icing or if you prefer soft gooey glace icing. These can all be coloured and flavoured to your individual taste.

All cupcakes are then finished with a variety of sprinkles and if you wish hand made fondant decorations such as blossoms, butterflies, hearts etc.

You can chooses from many cupcakes flavours -
-- double vanilla - delicious vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting
-- chocarama - rich chocolate cupcake with even richer chocolate buttercream frosting
-- black & white - rich chocolate cupcake with delicious vanilla buttercream frosting. Can be made in reverse
-- lemonilicious - tangy lemon cupcake with lemon buttercream frosting
-- big red - classic red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting
-- bugsy - spicy carrot cake with cream cheese frosting

These are my most popular flavours, if there is another you would like just let me know.

Cupcakes prices start from £1.25 each. This includes buttercream/icing and sprinkles. Prices will vary depending on the complexity of your designs and how many handmade decorations you require. A full quote will be given at time of ordering.

All cupcakes are available to order in boxes of 6, 12 and 16.

New Designs

Hi all...I took delivery of my new heart cutters and impression mats this week. So decided late last night to whip up a batch of super scrummy chocolate cupcakes and experiment with my new tools!!
